The Levy Senior Center Foundation (LSCF) announces the spring program of the new Levy Lecture Series, with the first lecture at 1 p.m., March 14 at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave. Barbara Geiger, locally famous landscape historian, will present “The Devil Comes to Evanston,” a program about the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, the evil Henry Holmes (a Wilmette resident), and how the legacy of that time in history still lives.
Stuart Greenblatt, Vice Chair of the LSCF Board, says he is excited for the Foundation to sponsor this program at the Center. “We want to spread the word and attract more seniors to take advantage of everything the Center provides. These fascinating lectures are one way to do that,” he says. All lectures are free and open to the public, but registration is necessary.
The second lecture, scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 11, will feature Dr. Jeffrey Albaugh, Director of Sexual Health at NorthShore University Health System. He will discuss “Sexual Health and Natural Changes as We Age.” Dr. Albaugh is a board-certified Advanced Practice Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist and an internationally recognized speaker on the topics of sexual health and sexual dysfunction. He treats both men and women and has won numerous awards for excellent patient care.
The Levy Lecture Series is divided into spring and fall segments, with four lectures scheduled for each. No lectures will be held in January, February, July, and August. Each lecture will last approximately one hour and include time for Q&A afterward.
