Top Box Foods and Erie Evanston/Skokie Health Center have partnered to improve health and nutrition on the North Shore. Residents will be able to purchase low-cost, high-quality, healthy foods when Top Box Foods kicks off the first area delivery site at Erie Evanston/Skokie Health Center (1285 Hartrey Avenue) on Tuesday, April 11 between 12:45 and 2 p.m.
At the kick-off, Top Box Foods will be delivering their fresh, healthy produce and frozen meats and proteins in a market-style shopping experience. All boxes are up to 40% off retail prices. Customers must pre-order their boxes in advance online at www.topboxfoods.com by the order deadline: Monday, April 3 by 3 p.m. Customers then show up to the delivery on April 11, pay, and take their items home to enjoy.
Christopher G. Kennedy, son of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and his wife Sheila Berner Kennedy founded Top Box Foods in 2012. “Our goal is to get more good food to more people,” explains Ms. Kennedy. “Utilizing bulk purchasing power allows Top Box Foods to get high quality products at a great value and then pass on the savings to the customers. Purchasing from Top Box Foods is a way for people to spend far less on groceries while enjoying more nutritious and convenient meal options.”
Erie Evanston/Skokie Health Center currently cares for more than 7,000 patients. Site Director Lisa Robinson looks forward to being able to connect them and others in the Evanston/Skokie area to this additional resource. “Proper nutrition is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, yet many of those we serve can’t easily afford the high quality foods available in grocery stores and farmer’s markets, and resort to processed or fast foods. By making discounted, high quality produce and protein available to the whole community—whether they are Erie patients or not—at our medical clinic, healthy foods will be convenient as well as affordable.”
Customers can continue to pick up their pre-ordered boxes from this location after the Tuesday, April 11 launch. Payments by cash, credit, debit, and Link cards are accepted at all Top Box Foods locations.
Future Top Box Foods order deadlines and pick-up dates will be announced.
