A field of six candidates vied for the four positions on the District 202 School Board. Incumbents Gretchen Livingston and Pat Savage-Williams were re-elected. The new Board members, Jude Laude and Pat Maunsell, have ties to the high school: Mr. Laude is a graduate of Evanston Township High School, and Ms. Maunsell is the mother of an ETHS student and an ETHS alum.

Mr. Laude is a counselor at North Lawndale College Prep High School in Chicago. In his work there, he has implemented restorative justice practices and created a male-mentoring program for high school boys.

Ms. Maunsell is a communications consultant and president of the board of the YMCA.

Ms. Livingston won a third term, and Ms. Savage-Williams, current President of the Board, won a second term.

Dr. Russell Kohnken, a scientist and former teacher at ETHS, and Anne Sills, who was appointed to the Board to fill the vacancy created by Bill Geiger’s leaving, were unsuccessful.

Like School District 65, District 202 comprises all of Evanston and some northern and western parts of Skokie.

A total of 19,118 votes was cast in this election. The number of votes each candidate received follows:

Jude Laude, 10,612

Gretchen Livingston, 9,825

Pat Maunsell, 9.322

Pat Savage-Williams, 8,207

Russell Kohnken, 7,536

Anne Sills, 6,576
