Beginning the week of April 17 and continuing over the next six weeks, the City of Evanston’s contractor will complete the remaining Emerson, Ridge, Asbury and Green Bay Corridor work.

Major construction activities will include:

  • Street light foundation removals
  • Sidewalk removal and replacement
  • Planting soil mix preparation and bioswale planting
  • Tree planting and sodding
  • Lining of sewer structures
  • Traffic counts at all intersections to adjust traffic signal timing

Landscaping and planting work should be completed by early May, weather permitting.

During construction, traffic control will be set up to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction on Emerson Street, Ridge Avenue, Asbury Avenue and Green Bay Road. The actual date when construction is planned will be noted on temporary “No Parking” signs posted 48 hours prior to the start of the work. Street cleaning and neighborhood parking restrictions will be waived for a one-block radius around the construction zone.
