The City of Evanston invites community members to attend an open house public meeting regarding the Central Street Bridge Reconstruction Project.
The meeting will take place:
Thursday, May 25
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Morton Civic Center, Parasol Room (4th Floor)
2100 Ridge Ave.
Evanston
The purpose of the project is to reconstruct the Central Street Bridge over the North Shore Channel. Originally constructed in 1908, the existing structure is approaching the end of its service life and is in need of complete replacement. The proposed structure is being planned to accommodate all roadway users and will consider the wide variety of adjacent land uses.
The open house public meeting will include a brief presentation on the status of the project and the proposals under consideration. Representatives from the City and the project consultant will be available during the open house to discuss the project, answer individual questions, and record comments. The presentation will address topics such as the need for the project, the design alternatives under consideration, right-of-way acquisition, and the tentative construction schedule. Existing conditions, aerial maps and cross sections, and proposed improvement exhibits will be displayed for viewing.
For questions or to submit written comments, please contact Senior Project Manager Sat Nagar, P.E., at 847-866-2967 or snagar@cityofevanston.org.
The meeting room is accessible to persons with disabilities. Any community member needing mobility or communications access assistance should contact the Facilities Management Office at 847-866-2916 (Voice) or 847-448-8064 (TYY).
