Over the next nine weeks, the City will be contracting street resurfacing work on seven street segments throughout Evanston. The project involves concrete curb and sidewalk ramp replacement as needed, road base repairs, milling of the existing asphalt surface and repaving with two layers of new asphalt pavement.
Funding for the project is from the City’s allotment of the State’s Motor Fuel Tax (MFT). The attached map illustrates the following locations, which will be completed in two phases:

Work at each project location is expected to last approximately five to six weeks. The exact date construction activities are scheduled to begin will be noted on the temporary construction zone “No Parking” signs posted a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the work. Parking will be prohibited during daytime work hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Street cleaning parking restrictions will be waived for a one-block radius around the construction zone when temporary daytime no parking is in effect.
Lawn sprinkler systems located in the parkway or adjacent to the public sidewalk should be identified and marked by the property owner prior to the start of construction to prevent damage to the system. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconveniences during construction.

The general contractor for this project is J.A. Johnson Paving, Inc., 1025 Addison Ct., Arlington Heights, IL.
