Applications are now being accepted for the Evanston Police Department Youth Citizen Police Academy. This interactive program is facilitated by officers from the Evanston Police Department and covers a wide range of topics relating to the department and the criminal justice system.
The program lasts one week, July 24-28, and free and open to Evanston residents ages 13-17 years old. This year’s session will cover a wide range of topics including distracted driving and restorative justice. Participants will also have an opportunity to work a mock crime scene and learn a few self-defense tactics.
