Daniel Biss released the following response on the state of current budget negotiations in Springfield.

“We are out of time.  This shouldn’t be so hard.  There is bipartisan agreement among legislators on a spending and revenue plan to keep this state from falling off a cliff — we need to spend more time voting, and less time in closed door meetings and cyclical debates.  

“With his characteristic refusal to compromise or even establish a consistent negotiating position, Governor Rauner is directly obstructing our ability to pass a budget. People’s lives are on the line. Put the bills on the floor, call the vote, and let’s do what the people of Illinois need us to do to stop the pain.”
