On July 18, at approximately 4:25 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the area of the 900 block of Davis Street for a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old male from Chicago, told police he was on a northbound Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train where he met and had a conversation with two males, said Commander Dugan of the Evanston Police Department. The males and victim agreed to smoke cannabis when they got off the train and after exiting the train proceeded to an alley in the 900 block of Davis Street. One of the males, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot the victim, said the Commander. The offenders took $48.51, a Ventra card and a cellular phone from the victim. The male with the green sweatshirt slapped the victim in the face and also made the victim turn over a pack of cigarettes to him.

Detectives responding to the scene located two male subjects in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue that matched the description of the offenders. Both subjects, who are 17 years of age were positively identified by the victim. The victim’s property and a BB gun were also recovered from the juveniles, said the Commander.

Both juveniles were charged with Aggravated Robbery and transported to the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile with the green sweatshirt resides in Chicago. The second juvenile resides in Evanston.
