The North Branch of the Evanston Public Library, 2026 Central St., will close for construction Saturday, July 29, at 6 pm, and reopen Tuesday, September 5, at 10 am. Work will include new carpeting and shelving and repairs to the stucco facade on the front of the library. Some of this work has already begun, but the rest will require closing for the month of August.
Materials can be renewed online at www.epl.org or by phone at 847-590-8706. Materials must be returned to the Main Library or the Chicago Ave/Main St. Branch because the North Branch book drop will be closed during this period. Holds that become available during this time should be picked up at the Main Library.
“Please remember to come back in the fall to admire our new carpet and shelving,” says Connie Heneghan, neighborhood services manager.
