While hundreds of residents played and dined at the CommUNITY Picnic behind the Morton Civic Center, some Fifth Ward residents participated in a community mixer, hearing advice from experts on how to develop entrepreneurial skills, use soft skills in the workplace, manage the purchase of a home, and nourish the body and soul.

Organized by the Fifth Ward Planning Committee – composed of local residents, non-profits, businesses, and City employees – the afternoon’s presentations were the result of neighborhood inquiry and feedback.
