Internationally acclaimed organist Janette Fishell will be heard in recital at Northwestern University’s Alice Millar Chapel, 1870 Sheridan Road, Evanston on November 10 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the North Shore Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, this concert celebrates the life and legacy of Richard G. Enright (1923-2016), Professor Emeritus of Church Music and Organ at NU.
Dr. Fishell, Professor of Organ and Chair of the Organ Department at Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, is one of Dr. Enright’s most distinguished students. She will perform works by Bach, Sowerby, Durufle, Alain and Eben.
In addition to his 35 years as a faculty member at Northwestern, Richard Enright served as Organist and Choirmaster at First Presbyterian Church of Evanston for 22 years and subsequently as Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest for 23 years. He was a founding member of the North Shore Chapter of the AGO.
This celebratory concert is open to the public free of charge. A reception for the artist and family of Dr. Enright follows the concert in Parkes Hall in the Chapel complex.
