On Sept. 25, City Council denied a request for $550,000 in gap funding for a proposed three-story, 16 unit affordable housing project at 2215 Dempster St. The developer, Housing Opportunities for Women, however, is still preparing to proceed. Britt Shawver, Chief Executive Officer of HOW, told the RoundTable, “We are preparing to proceed, and continue to hope we will do so in partnership with the City.”

The City’s Zoning Department has previously certified that the proposed project complies with the provisions of the Zoning Code. The project was scheduled to go before the Design, Appearance, and Review Committee yesterday to obtain final approval from that committee.
