On Oct. 26, at approximately 10:04 p.m., police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Howard Street and Dodge Avenue, said Commander Joe Dugan of the Evanston Police Department.  Upon arrival, officers located a twenty-nine year old male victim from Evanston, bleeding from the face. The victim told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on Howard Street and was attempting to make a right turn to northbound Dodge Avenue when a silver vehicle pulled up alongside his vehicle and the lone occupant fired one shot at the victim’s vehicle, said the Commander. The projectile struck and shattered the driver’s side door window. The victim was struck in the face by glass fragments, and was transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, said the Commander.

There were two male/adult relatives in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the incident who were not injured. The suspect vehicle was last seen southbound on California Avenue from Howard Street.

The suspect is described as being a black or Hispanic male wearing a black or red baseball hat. The vehicle is described as a silver 4-door with tinted windows and silver rims, said the Commander.
