Models of all ages were at home on the runway at the annual Foster Senior Fashion Show, held on Oct. 29 at the club’s home, Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Rodney Greene served as emcee, introducing the community members who wore casual (“Blowing in the Wind”) or formal (“Looking Delightful and Feeling Divine”) attire, describing each outfit, matching his cadence to the beat of the background music.

Justin Blake assisted the models on the stairs, escorting some as they strolled, stepped or strutted down the runway – at times a steadying presence, at times an ad hoc dance partner. Dancing and mime from Bethel AME Church, singing by Kimberly Jenkins, and a reading by Priscilla Giles also entertained the audience of more than 100.

Club members who reach the age of 90 become Golden Members. Club Treasurer Gerri Sizemore presented John Frazier, the first male Golden Member of the club, with a gold tie. At 51, the fashion show is almost a senior citizen too.
