Evanston residents and visitors are encouraged to kick off the holiday shopping season by supporting the city’s small, local shops and business districts on national Small Business Saturday, November 25.
Observed annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to support the small, independent businesses that help make their communities special.
New this year, shoppers can pick up a “We Love Evanston” Passport at participating downtown Evanston businesses. Those who spend at least $75 will get a “We Love Evanston” tote bag, coffee mug and phone stand, and will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 gift card to a downtown Evanston restaurant. Passports can be picked up at any of the participating retail stores. “We Love Evanston” giveaways can be redeemed at Vinic Wine, 1509 Chicago Ave., with proof of $75 purchase on Saturday, November 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Shoppers can fuel a great day of Small Business Saturday shopping by taking advantage of brunch and lunch specials at restaurants throughout the city, as well as enjoying free cookies at participating businesses. Visit downtownevanston.org/smallbusinesssaturday for more information.
