The City of Evanston has announced changes in service delivery and facility schedules in recognition of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Refuse Collection
No recycling or solid waste collections will occur on Monday, December 25 or Monday, January 1. Trash and recycling collections will occur one day later than normal during the weeks. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Friday, December 29 and Friday, January 5.

The City’s 311 Center will be closed on December 25 and January 1. Evanston 311 is available 24/7 online at cityofevanston.org/311 and via the Evanston 311 mobile app.

Facilities

  • The Morton Civic Center will be closed December 23-25 and December 30 through January 1.
  • All Evanston Public Library locations will be closed on December 24, 25 and January 1. The Main Library will close at 5 p.m. on December 31.
  • The Chandler-Newberger Center will be closed December 23-25, 31 and January 1.
  • The Evanston Ecology Center will be closed December 25 and January 1.
  • The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center will be closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.
  • The Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center will be closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.
  • The Levy Center is closed December 18-23 for cleaning; however, the Center will be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the bus will run for lunch pick-ups and grocery shopping. The Levy Center will be closed December 24, 25 and January 1 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The Center will close at 3 p.m. on December 31.
  • The Noyes Cultural Arts Center will be closed December 24, 25 and January 1. The Center will close at 3 p.m. on December 31.
  • The Robert Crown Community Center will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 24 and 31, and will be closed on December 25 and January 1.
