On Feb. 21, the North Shore Harmonizers will join other barbershop choruses in a Giant Afterglow sing-out at Hackney’s on Lake, 1514 E. Lake Ave. in Glenview. From 7 to 10 p.m., area quartets and ensembles, including the Harmonizers, will perform alone as well as together in one big songfest, hosted by New Tradition Chorus.

This event is free and open to the public. Families and friends are welcome to buy drinks and dinner and hear an evening of pure four-part, barbershop harmony.

The North Shore Harmonizers, founded in 1952, is one of the longest-established independent women’s a cappella-barbershop choruses in the country. They perform at their own concerts, at special and holiday programs for seniors and other Chicago-area community groups, and at farmers’ markets in the summer.
