In honor of 2018 National Drinking Water Week, May 6-12, the City is hosting an art contest for third-grade students in Evanston to celebrate the contest’s theme, “Protect the Source.” The purpose of the week-long event is to celebrate water by recognizing the essential role it plays in daily life.
Until 5 p.m. on April 6, community members are encouraged to cast their vote online at surveymonkey.com/r/NDWW2018 to determine this year’s People’s Choice Award winner.
The winners of the contest will be invited to attend the announcement and presentation of the awards at the Administration & Public Works Committee Meeting April 23. Mayor’s Choice Award and Water Spirit Award winners will also be announced during the meeting.
Each winner will receive a plaque, four Evanston Beach Tokens for the 2018 season, and have their artwork displayed at the main Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave., during National Drinking Water Week.
