YWCA Evanston/North Shore is inviting people to join with friends, neighbors, and community groups for its annual Stand Against Racism on Friday, April 27.
Skokie residents will stand from 10:25-10:50 a.m. in various locations throughout Skokie. The Evanston Stand Against Racism will take place on Ridge Avenue (near Church Street) from 2:00-2:25 p.m. – later in the day than in previous years. The Evanston time was moved to better accommodate lunch periods for schoolchildren, who participate in this annual event.
The Stand Against Racism is a movement of YWCA that aims to raise community awareness of how racism affects all of us. Learn more about the 2018 event at www.ywca.org/evanston or call 847-864-8445.
YWCA Evanston/North Shore works to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen local communities. It serves more than 10,000 people annually in northern Cook County.
