The Evanston Animal Shelter Association , a not-for-profit organization which funds and operates the Evanston Animal Shelter, said its annual Tails in Bloom Gala held last month surpassed its set goals.
Emceed by Fred from 103.5 KISS FM’s Fred and Angi in the Morning, the event raised $60,000, attracted more than 170 attendees and had numerous sponsors. The largest live auction ticket item that was sold was the One Year Kennel Naming Rights for $5,200.
Guests learned that the shelter has a 97% live-release rate, one of the highest in Chicago.
From 10 a.m. till noon on May 19, Companion Animal Hospital will offer free rabies vaccinations and microchips at The Evanston Animal Shelter, 2310 Oakton St.
