It’s June 20, the 171st day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. One hundred ninety-four days remain in 2018. According to the National Weather Service, the temperature of Lake Michigan yesterday was 61 at the Chicago Shore, the Chicago Crib and the Wilmette buoy.
City Council voted 6-3 last night to proceed with negotiations to have the Evanston Lighthouse Dunes group pay for the demolition of the Harley Clarke mansion, 2603 Sheridan Road.

June 20 is World Refugee Day. World Refugee Day commemorates the obstacles refugees face each year, while also celebrating their courage and strength. Since 2001, the United Nations and more than 100 countries have observed World Refugee Day annually on June 20. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reports there are 65.3 million forcibly displaced people around the world.
