The annual event that began more than 40 years ago as a street fair on Custer Avenue has mushroomed into a two-day extravaganza, with craft vendors, live music, local food and children’s entertainment radiating from the Chicago/Main hub.

At the music stages, the young, the old and the in-between danced in the sunshine and to the Shout Section Big Band. Kevin Purcell and the Nightburners rocked the evening.

At the fire station on Madison Street, kids kicked off their shoes and frolicked in the cold spray of water from a fire hydrant.
