The National Weather Service reports that yesterday’s Lake Michigan temperatures were 68 at the Chicago shore, 59 at the Chicago crib and 66 at the Wilmette buoy.

This is a day to taste some of the best food in Evanston. Rotary International’s annual Taste of Evanston will take place late afternoon to early evening at the Dawes House, featuring food from about 40 local restaurants. And overlapping , but just barely- so folks can do both – Central Pizza Pie’s next Pop-Up for Good at Curt’s Café North will benefit First Friends of First Presbyterian Church.

Astronomy.com reports that although “Jupiter reached opposition and peak visibility two months ago, it remains a stunning sight from evening twilight until it sets around 2 a.m. local daylight time. Jupiter shines at magnitude –2.3 and dominates the sky toward the south-southwest as twilight deepens.”
