Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre has received nine nominations for the 24th annual Black Theater Alliance/Ira Aldridge Awards.

“Topdog/Underdog was nominated the outstanding stage production, best ensemble, best direction of an ensemble
(Tim Rhoze), best actor in an ensemble (Keith Illidge and Jelani Pitcher), best set design (Tim Rhoze and Becca Venable) and best lighting design (Phoenix and Oliver Ballentine).

Mardra Thomas received the nomination for best leading actress in a musical for her performance in “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill.” Elana Elyce was nominated as best actress in an ensemble for her roles in “From the Mississippi Delta.” Black Theater Alliance awards winners will be announced on Oct. 15.
