Schakowsky Statement on the Passing of Senator John McCain

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky issued the following statement about the death of Arizona Senator John McCain: 

“John McCain was a patriot, a statesman, and a hero.

 “He dedicated his life to courageously fighting for his country, his party, and his ideals. In some cases he paid dearly for it. Senator McCain was a shining example of principled servant leadership. He was steadfast, determined, and always willing to speak out when the moment demanded it. We need more of the John McCain brand of politics in America today. He will be dearly missed. My thoughts are with his family, his loved ones, and the millions of men and women he inspired to serve their country in one way or another.”
