Rembrandt Chamber Musicians opens its 29th season with music of defiance and peace, featuring the music of Dmitri Shoskatovich. “Defiance and Peace,” will take
place at 3 p.m. on Sept. 30 in Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave.

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, “War and the Human Heart” combines chamber orchestra, chorus, film, and live narration in a moving performance that honors the experience of war for every soldier, past or present, at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Cathedral in Chicago.

Rembrandt’s Holiday Baroque concert will take place at 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 in Alice Millar chapel, 1890 Sheridan Road.

Concerts in 2019 include “Quartet for the End of Time” on Feb. 17, “Triumph and Joy”. on March 31 and “A Soldier’s Tale, A Fiddler’s Tale,” all at 3 p.m. at Nichols Concert Hall.
