Literature for All of Us announced the appointment of Grace Chan McKibben as its new Executive Director, replacing founder Karen Thomson, who retired recently. Ms. McKibben will continue organization’s mission of helping young people become resilient by finding their voice through books and writing.

Beth Uyenco, Chair of Literature for All of Us’ Board of Trustees, said “We feel fortunate to have Grace lead Literature for All of Us. As a longtime leader in government and non-profit sectors, she’s worked tirelessly to build coalitions across lines of race and class.

A long-term resident of Chicago, she has the knowledge, grit and experience to represent the variety of voices throughout our organization as well as our constituents. We will miss Karen’s day-to- day presence, but also look forward to the new leadership Grace brings.”

Literature for All of Us is located at Curt’s Café North, 2922 Central St. and the YWCA at 1215 Church St.
