Three scholar athletes from Evanston Township High School were honored by the Kiwanis Club of Evanston. ETHS seniors Michael Axelrood, Annie Hedges and Clara Lynk each received the Ted Van Zelst Award in September 2018.
Michael completed his fourth year on the football team and credits his participation with personal and leadership growth. Annie is a doubles tennis player at ETHS, making it to state last year and finishing in ETHS’s first top ten at the State meet. She also finds time for community service and participation with Best Buddies, an organization that works with disabled students at Park School. Clara, an athlete in golf and badminton, looks forward to a future in engineering.
