Evanston Mayor Stephen Hagerty is inviting community members to help guide the development of Evanston’s Affordable Housing Plan by participating in the City’s Affordable Housing Plan Steering Committee.
Community members with a range of experiences and perspectives are encouraged to apply by Wednesday, October 17 at 5 p.m. to serve on the committee, which will be tasked with developing a plan to address Evanston’s affordable housing needs. The process is expected to take 12 months to complete and will include monthly meetings.
“Evanston is a vibrant, desirable place to live in large part thanks to our rich socio-economic diversity,” said Mayor Stephen Hagerty. “As a community, we must work together to identify and address Evanston’s affordable housing needs with the goal of creating the most livable city for all.”
More information about the committee and a link to the application form can be found at cityofevanston.org/housingplan. Evanston residency is not a requirement to serve on the steering committee, but members must have considerable knowledge of the community.
Eleven members of the committee will be appointed by Mayor Hagerty from the pool of applicants.
