Ann Lynn Sparagana, passed away peacefully Sept. 20. Artistic and talented since childhood, Ms. Sparagana graduated from School of the Art Institute of Chicago in painting, drawing and metal arts.
A dedicated teacher at Chiaravalle Montessori, ParkView and Bright Horizons Evanston, her love of and respect for children was reflected in her nurturing, joy and creative classrooms. Her mission was to give children the best possible introduction to a life of learning.
Ms. Sparagana will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, adventurous spirit and irreverent humor. She is survived by her father, Mario Sparagana (Susanne, d. 2014); siblings Ruth McLaren (David) and John Sparagana (Katie Kahn); nieces and nephew Susanne and Andrew McLaren, Marina and Hannah Sparagana; dearest friend Judy Killheffer (Ollie), and Jack and Charlie Killheffer.
Her memorial will be held Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Evanston Art Center, 1717 Central St. Donations may be made in Her name to one’s favorite animal charity.
