Main-Dempster Mile shops have a holiday gift for all its friends and customers. On Dec. 13, shoppers may stop at any participating business on the Main-Dempster Mile and enjoy a holiday treat, courtesy of that business owner.

Tickets are free, but RSVPs are requested at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1st-annual-mdm-holiday-treat-walk-tickets-50757812985?aff=erelexpmlt. Everyone who makes a donation in any amount at the door will receive a handsome souvenir mug, and 100% of the donation will go to Soup at Six, an Evanston soup kitchen.

Since 1983, Soup at Six has provided Tuesday dinner from the basement gym of the Hemenway United Methodist Church, 933 Chicago Ave.  Soup at Six is an independent, non-sectarian non-profit organization, funded completely from donations and gifts. There is no fancy board to organize fundraisers, and there are no overhead costs. Each penny that is donated goes directly to feed guests.
