The Evanston Fire Department is hosting an open house for its Fire Explorer Program. This coed program was launched in 2012 and is designed for students ages 14 to 20 years old. Participants get the opportunity to work with and learn from professionals of the Evanston Fire Department. The program covers information about emergency call protocols, firefighting policies and procedures, while giving participants hands-on experiences with real life fire and emergency medical equipment. There are team-building exercises, ride-alongs and much more.
Trying to decide on a career? Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes for fire and emergency services? Come join the Evanston Fire Department ExplorerProgram and get a first-hand look.
