Larry Cox, a 56-year old resident of Evanston, was shot on Dec. 30, 2018 in the 1900 block of Foster Street. He died on Jan. 26. The gunshot wound was ruled a contributory factor to his death, and his death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office
Commander Ryan Glew of the Evanston Police Department told the RoundTable that the incident was initially investigated as an aggravated battery and that police are now working with the State’s Attorney’s Office and investigating the shooting as a homicide. He said no one has been charged.
