After finishing the Central Suburban League conference undefeated, Evanston Township High School’s Scholastic Bowl team competed at the Illinois High School Association’s Regional Scholastic Bowl. Team members defended their title as the IHSA champions with a margin of 300 points or more.

The Scholastic Bowl Tournament is a trivia-based competition that requires participants to answer questions across a variety of topics, including science, literature, math and fine arts. Each member of the team has a “specialty” area, but all students practice in other areas to help keep the team balanced.

The team’s strong performances at the Regional and Sectional competitions have earned it a spot at the National Academic Quiz Tournament in Atlanta, in May. Last year, the team finished 183 out of 352 teams at Nationals.
