The show runs through April 22. An artist talk is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. on April 14.

 Kathy Halper will be showing work she created over the past two years, as well as some embroidered pieces at 1100 Florence Gallery. The opening of her solo exhibit, “What a Day It’s Been,” will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on April 6 at 1100 Florence Ave.

A series of six paintings explores the angst and absurdity the political climate.

Embracing Russia’s recent influence in lives, the artist used the culture’s beautiful folk art for her inspiration in creating these narratives. Other new works use discarded Amazon boxes as a primary material.
