The community is invited to celebrate Earth Week with the D65 Green Teams at the second annual 10- Second Film Festival, at 6:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Rotary International Auditorium, 1560 Sherman Ave..
The festival will feature the short film “Plastic is Forever,” by 13-year-old filmmaker Dylan D’Haeze. This will be followed by our own District 65 students’ ten-second environmental film creations.
District 65’s Green Teams welcome all students’ ideas on sustainability, especially in how to reduce single-use disposable plastics such as snack bags, straws and eating utensils. All students who submit a film and attend the festival may enter their name into one of the following raffles: Quad Indoor Sports, Outatimes Games escape rooms, Chicago Botanic Garden, Stars on Ice tickets, Actors Gymnasium full course, or Space class. Anyone interested in submitted a film can go to 10secondfilmfestival.com. The deadline for submissions is April 25. The event is free but tickets, available through Eventbrite, are required.
