Applications are now being accepted for the Evanston Police Department Youth Citizen Police Academy. This interactive program is facilitated by Evanston officers and covers a wide range of topics relating to the Evanston Police Department. The program lasts one week, July 22 – 26, and meets in the evenings.
The program is completely free and open to Evanston residents ages 14-17 years old. This year’s session will cover a wide range of topics including distracted driving and restorative justice. Participants will also have an opportunity to work a mock crime scene and learn a few self-defense tactics.
