New this year will be a block party hosted by Downtown Evanston on the last Thursday of each month, June 27, July 25 and Aug. 22.
This is a free event and all ages are welcome. There are folding chairs and café tables, and people are welcome to bring their own. In the event of rain, Downtown Evanston will cancel the show by 4 p.m.
The kickoff on June 13 features a few scenes from Mudlark Theater’s upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” at 6:30 p.m., followed by Sam Fazio at 7 p.m., playing jazz standards and pop classics.

June 27: Second Hand Soul Band, playing Motown, soul and rock ’n roll
July 11: Chip Ratliff & the Dirty BluCrue!, playing funk and soul
July 18: Rick Lindy & The Wild Ones, playing rockabilly, blues and roots
July 25: Chicken Bone, playing classic rock covers
Aug. 1: Kaleidoscope Eyes, a Beatles tribute band
Aug. 8: The Friends Band, playing Motown, jazz and funk
Aug. 15: The Flat Cats, playing swing jazz and blues
Aug. 22: High Hat Second Line Band, a New Orleans Brass Band
