Local organizations looking to implement climate action projects in Evanston are encouraged to apply for the City of Evanston Office of Sustainability’s first mini-grant program.

Eight thousand dollars in grant funding is available to support the implementation of pilot projects focused on zero waste or environmental justice, two of the goals adopted by the City’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP).

Eligible schools, businesses and organizations can apply for up to $1,000 in grant funding to cover costs associated with their projects, from composting initiatives to community outreach campaigns. To be eligible, the proposed project must have goals consistent with the City’s Climate Action and Resilience Plan, impact the Evanston area and comply with the existing City code.

The application period is open through Aug. 12. Applications are available at cityofevanston.org/sustainability.
