Laura Ng, Executive Director of Traffick Free, will give a free talk at 2 p.m. on Aug. 11 in the Levy Center, 300 Dodge Ave. The topic is “Human Trafficking in Chicago.”

Ms. Ng will address what human trafficking is, the communities it affects, ways to identify it, resources to combat it and just how close this issue is to Evanston.

Those attending should expect to be more alert about the reality of exploitation and be able to educate their own friends and family about it.

Over the years, Ms. Ng has been uncompromising in educating others about the realities of both sex and labor trafficking and unaccepting of the myth that the problem is so big, there is nothing an individual can do to reduce its injustices.
