On Aug. 15, friends and family of Dr. Allan Howe gathered at the peach tree in front of Reba Early Learning Center to remember him. The peach tree was planted two years ago, said Bettye Cohns, Executive Director of Reba Early Learning Center, in memory of James Marcus Howe.
“I was fortunate enough to experience first-hand Dr. Howe’s dedication to Reba Early Learning Center. He was passionate about the education of young children,” Ms. Cohns said.
Dr. Howe served as on the board of Reba Early Learning Center for more than 30 years. His vision was that the center would provide an equitable care and education program for families with young children, enabling them to have a solid foundation for life.
Ms. Cohns said the Dr. Allan H. Howe Memorial Fund has been established to provide tuition scholarships for families and support the center’s mission of providing a high quality of care and education for young children.
Donations for the memorial fund can be made to Reba Early Learning Center or through the website, www.rebaearlylearningcenter.org
