Two men were shot in the 1700 block of Payne Street just east of Twiggs Park, on Oct. 25 at about 12:30 p.m., Commander Ryan Glew of the Evanston Police Department told the RoundTable. One man was shot in the leg and hand and the other was hit in his buttocks. The injuries were not considered life threatening, said the Commander.
The Commander said police were told that two or three men approached the two men, and numerous shots were fired. Police recovered many shell casings.
The men who were shot have cooperated with the police, said Commander Glew, but at this time a suspect has not yet been identified, and the motive for the shootings has not been determined. The investigation is continuing.
