The City will host a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event to celebrate the newly renovated Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center on Saturday, January 11, 3 p.m., 1655 Foster St.

Members of the community are invited to join Mayor Stephen Hagerty and City staff for a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m., followed by a celebration including food, music, games, and the opportunity to participate in demonstrations highlighting new program offerings.

Over the past year, the City contracted with Designs 4 Dignity and Central Rug and Carpet to design and complete renovations at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Facility updates include new flooring, painting, a reconstructed staircase, ADA improvements (including a new registration window and serving window), kitchen updates, new furniture, and more. The project was supported with $440,000 in funding from the City’s Good Neighbor Fund, in partnership with Northwestern University.
