Kindness isn’t about race, gender, sexuality ,religion, or class
It is about looking deep inside someone and seeing them for who they really are
It is about being blunt with your friends even though that might not seem so kind
Kindness is when you embrace the pain of others and being their strength, even when you have none left
It is as simple as complementing someone on their outfit or even just simply holding the door open for them
It is sweet as candy and gentle as a cool summer breeze
It is as vibrant as a sunset and calming as my grandmother’s sweet voice
It is graceful
Elegant
Tangible even
Kindness isn’t about race, gender, sexuality ,religion, or class
It is about looking deep inside someone and seeing them for who they really are
Kindness is respect
Kindness is understanding
Kindness is you
Kindness is me
Kindness is “we”
And we are kindness
We are graceful
We are elegant
And We are tangible
And we are here
So let’s be kind to one another
I have not always been dealt the hand of kindness
I have not always been so kind
But I try my best to be
Because I understand what kindness is
It is about looking deep inside someone and seeing them for who they really are
It is about looking deep inside myself, and learning how to navigate a room
Learning how channel my anger when someone insults me based on my appearance and I have to kindly educate them
Kindness is when you have been broken down and beaten by society and still finding strength to smile
Kindness is in prayer and finding peace
Kindness is respect
Kindness is understanding
Kindness is you
Kindness is me
Kindness is “we”
And we are kindness
We are graceful
We are elegant
And We are tangible
And we are here
So let’s be kind to one another
Because really
It is graceful
Elegant
Tangible even
And It is sweet as candy and gentle as a cool summer breeze
