Public Services Bureau Chief Edgar Cano provided the following information about a weather system that is expected to arrive today, Feb. 24. Updates will be posted as they are received.
“A new weather system will bring periods of rain today and into tonight. The precipitation will then turn to snow around 9 or 10 a.m. Tuesday and run through Wednesday evening. Current forecasted totals for Evanston are between 4 and 6 inches of pavement accumulation.
“Along with the snow, we will be under a Lakeshore Flood Watch which will be in effect from 6 a.m. Feb. 25 until 3 p.m. Feb. 26.. Northeast winds are expected to gust as high as 40 MPH.
“Crews are currently prepping for the event and have been scheduled for its duration.”
