As the number of aging Americans seeking affordable, accessible housing continues to grow, WiseUp, the League of Women Voters of Evanston and the Evanston Development Cooperative will share ideas on how our communities can address this time-sensitive issue.
The event, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on March 16 at the Main Library, 1703 Orrington Ave., will focus on accessory dwelling units (ADUs) as one regional housing solution. ADUs are additional housing units on the property of an existing residential home, and they are becoming a new way to provide sensible, smaller housing options for residents of all ages.
The community is invited to discuss policies that work towards accessible ADUs in Evanston and across the Chicago region and learn how to take local action in support of age-friendly housing.
