During the stay at home order, essential businesses and services will remain open and available. People will continue to have regular access to grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals, pharmacies and other essential businesses.

It’s more important than ever to support small business. See below for some local businesses that will remain open.

Computer Repair

Many of us are telecommuting and if you are having difficulty with your work from home set up or if your computer is giving you trouble, Lapin Systems and High Performance Computers are available for computer repairs. Support is also available remotely, please call ahead for an appointment.

Hardware Stores

Neighborhood hardware stores Lemoi Ace Hardware and Harolds True Value Hardware remain open for needed household tools and supplies.

Bike Shops

Need help getting around? Evanston has several bike shops open for maintenance, including Wheel & Sprocket, Bucephalus Bikes, The Pony Shop, and Mack’s Bike & Goods. The number of customers is limited in stores and hours may be reduced, so appointments are strongly encouraged.

Cleaners

The world needs to be cleaner than ever right now. Many local dry cleaners, including Kenny the Kleener, Soapie’s Dry Cleaning & Tailoring, Lake City Cleaners, Swan Lake Cleaners, and Tide Cleaners, are open for business!

Restaurants

Many of your favorite local restaurants are still open for delivery and pickup service. Please see here for a list of establishments offering carry-out and delivery services.
