The number of confirmed cases of Evanston residents having COVID-19 grew to 71 as of 3 p.m. today, March 30, according to information provided by the City of Evanston. This is an increase of 3 cases since yesterday, March 29, and 4 cases since March 28. The accompanying chart shows the trend starting on March 19. The first confirmed case of an Evanston resident was reported on March 13.

While the growth rate of COVID-19 has slowed in the last two days for Evanston residents, the growth rate for Cook County and Illinois has been higher. For Cook County, the cases grew from 2,613 to 3,727 between March 28 and 30. The cases in the State grew from 3,491 to 5,057. The trends are shown in the accompanying chart (in the rotating box above).
