The Evanston Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred today, April 27, 2020 at 12:47 p.m. Evanston Police Officers responded to the area of Howard Street and Chicago Avenue after receiving a call that a female was shot in the chest. 

Officers arrived but did not find any victims or offenders. Approximately 10 minutes after the original shots-fired call a 28-year- old Evanston resident arrived at Evanston Hospital with gunshot wounds to her right arm and chest. 

Officers and Detectives investigated and learned that the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Howard Street. The victim was the passenger in a vehicle, when another vehicle pulled alongside the vehicle she was traveling in and opened fire. The victim was struck twice and was driven to the hospital. The victim is being treated at Evanston Hospital and is in stable condition, she is expected to recover from her injuries. Currently, there are no suspects in custody.
